The Africa Institute for Grassroots Democracy and Development Studies (AIGDDS) is guided by a team of visionary leaders, scholars, and practitioners committed to advancing democracy and development from the grassroots upward.
The Institute’s leadership structure ensures academic integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic direction in line with its Pan-African mandate.
Leadership Structure
Board of Trustees
The highest governing body of AIGDDS, responsible for policy oversight, institutional integrity, and strategic guidance. Composed of eminent scholars, policymakers, and development experts from across Africa and the diaspora.
Advisory Council
Provides intellectual and professional counsel on thematic research areas, partnerships, and institutional growth. Members include academics, civil society leaders, and practitioners with proven commitment to Africa’s governance and development agenda.
Director General (DG)
The chief executive officer of the Institute, responsible for overall leadership, management, and coordination of programmes, partnerships, and operations.
